Goodwill Fair gathered praise and over 9000 visitors
24.09.2024 | The Wellbeing Fair, organised by the City of Kotka on the weekend of 21-22 September, once again attracted a lot of praise and visitors over the two days of the fair.
A total of 9,150 visitors attended the event at the Port Arena. The themes for 2024 were Know Your Wellbeing.
Now in its second year, the Feel Good Fair was a free event for all, where visitors had the opportunity to meet more than 80 different exhibitors around the theme of wellbeing. There was plenty to do, see and experience for all ages.
On both days of the fair, the main stage featured a variety of wellbeing-themed talks. A two-part joint performance by the Kymi Sinfonieta and Kotka City Theatre small group on the main stage was one of the highlights – visitors were delighted that such a high quality programme was made available to everyone at the free event.
Among the most popular acts were the main stage performances by the youtubers Ella and Helmi and Niko and Santtu. The stage show was followed by a Meet&Greet, where a total of 1,223 visitors came to take a photo with the tube stars.
On Saturday, a dance performance and dance lesson by Dancing with the Stars dancers Anssi Heikkilä and Kia Lehmuskoski filled the front of the stage with dance enthusiasts.
Also on Sunday, Mikko Peltsi Peltola’s nature-themed performance got people moving.
Anssi Heikkilä hosted the fair and Mikko Peltola hosted the Sunday event.
The upstairs of the Port Arena was also used for the fair, where you could find things to do and surprises: there was a playground for children and a magical and cleverly constructed Fairytale Feeling Trail, produced by the City of Kotka’s Children’s Cultural Centre Laivuri.
Upstairs, there was also, among other things, the Laniluola, where you could play virtual pétanque or try out a fresh Kalevala-themed game demo by the local game company Normogames.
In the FLOW space, you could try out a variety of new hobbies, from playing the ukulele to country dancing. In the Vette’s Animals art workshop, organised in cooperation with the Kotka Artists’ Association, fish were coloured using different techniques and later turned into a spectacular community artwork.
The Fair of Goodwill claimed its place in the hearts of the people of Kotka and the event was attended by people from all over the country. Like last year’s event, the Goodwill Fair was a success that visitors and exhibitors hope will continue.
