Eagle Drift Battle & Motorsport Wknd – drifters arrive in Kotka in May

20.1.2025 | A nationally significant motorsport event, the Eagle Drift Battle & Motorsport Wknd, will take place on 9-10 May 2025 in the seaside scenery of Kotka.
The event will bring together drifting fans and motorsport enthusiasts and offer unforgettable entertainment for the whole family.

The main attraction of the event will be the drifting drivers and their incredible cars. The event will feature vehicles from different categories and drivers ranging in age from 15 to 50 years old.

The show will include SM PRO2 driver Marjo Tuviala from Kouvola and her stunning BMW e61. In the Drift SM PRO category, Eemi Kamula from Kokkola is one of the first to sign up with his BMW with over 1000 horsepower and the car will be on show for the first time at the Kotka circuit.

This sport is suitable for all speed freaks who drive their 1000+ horsepower iron racers in a predefined performance area.

“This is the first time that drifters will be coming to Kotka, so the public will have a unique opportunity to witness a show combining tyre smoke and skilful driving in the most spectator-friendly motorsport sport,” says event producer Mikko Almgren from Eagle Motorsport.

There is plenty to see and do in the area outside of the drifting shows. There will be racing cars in various classes, karting cars, new car models from importers, a moped show, motorcycles, tuning cars and automotive accessories such as tyres, rims and much more.

“This is the perfect opportunity for motorsport enthusiasts and families to enjoy a varied programme,” promises Almgren.

Delicious food will also be at the heart of the event. Tasty snacks, burgers and other tempting options will be available in the area.

“The restaurant in the harbour arena will serve good food and refreshing drinks. Vip guests will also be welcomed at the Arena,” says Mikko Almgren.

“The Eagle Drift Battle & Motorsport Wknd is a free event that brings thousands of visitors to the area. This is entertainment at its best, where everyone can experience the unique atmosphere of a domestic motorsport event,” Almgren enthuses.

The Eagle Drift Battle & Motorsport Wknd will bring a new twist to the City of Kotka’s event programme, with a motorsport show in the heart of the city.
“The location of the event in Kantasatama, next to the new Satama Arena and Vellamo Marine Centre, is a good indication of Kotka’s attractiveness as an event city and especially of the fact that the constantly developing Kantasatama offers the best platform in South-Kymenlaakso for various large-scale events,” says Kari Makkonen, Kotka’s Contact Manager.
