Ahlströmintie closed between Vesitorninkatu-Aumakatu
11.12.2024 | Due to the construction of Ahlströminkatu, the road will be closed to vehicular traffic between Vesitorninkatu and Aumakatu. Detours for vehicle traffic will be guided along Karhunkatu in the directions of Hamina and Kotka. The traffic arrangements will be implemented from 9 December.
The signposting of the detour routes will be carried out using existing portals, route signposts and by removing and covering up old signs and road markings. The closure of the Ahlström road will take effect once the temporary traffic arrangements have been completed.

On Karhunkatu, on-street parking is prohibited due to changes in public transport routes.
When Ahlströmintie is closed between Vesitorninkatu and Aumakatu, Vesivallintie will be passable, but detour guidance will be provided only in the direction of Karhunkatu. The speed limit on Karhunkatu will be lowered to 30 km/h in its entirety and, if necessary, speed bumps will be added to the road.
Pedestrian and cycling lanes will not be affected by the closure and will continue to run as normal along Ahlströmintie.
Ahlströmintie will be closed between Vesitorninkatu – Aumakatu until 15.5.2025.
